Program Description:

Location: Northern Ireland
Dates: May 18 -June 8, 2018
Faculty Leader: Megan Dailey

During this three-week Service-Learning program, students will examine the history of Northern Ireland, particularly that of the Troubles, and modern efforts of peace and reconciliation. The program will take place in and around Belfast, collaborating directly with youth-workers and government agencies inside youth clubs, since youth have been particularly impacted by history, conflict, and conflict resolution. By day, students will engage with ex-combatants, politicians, and sectarian museums around the North. By night, they will engage in youth clubs, where young people are re-imagining Northern Ireland and actively working to create a new national identity.
