European Model of Sport (Risk Management Program)

Program Description:
In 2024, students and faculty/staff will travel to Italy, Switzerland, and Germany from April 25th - May 6th for the European Model of Sport program.

As sport professionals, it is imperative to understand how society outside of the U.S. is involved in the business of sport. To reinforce the global view, the Center for Sport Leadership curriculum offers a course titled the European Model of Sport (SPTL 650).  Within this course, students tour European athletic facilities and attend major sporting events with a behind the scenes look at the entire operation.  Additionally, students attend daily seminars with Europe’s top sport professionals and discuss issues concerning club structure, players’ rights, marketing, event management and corporate sponsorship.
