If you are a VCU medical student traveling abroad to participate in a medical elective, you must complete this online registration. Please only complete the registration if you are receiving academic credit towards your VCU medical degree.
The VCU Global Education Office (GEO) provides a secure website within Studio Abroad for students to record their international travel plans. The travel registry will enable our office to collect, centralize and, when necessary, distribute information about international endeavors for the VCU community. GEO serves as one centralized source for contact information in case of an emergency abroad involving a member of the university community.
In the interest of the safety of VCU students, travel registration with the Global Education Office is required for all individuals engaged in VCU-related activities abroad. GEO will ensure that all registered travelers receive necessary health and safety pre-departure information as well as international insurance coverage.
When beginning a registration for a VCU Education Abroad Program, participants will be prompted to pay the following non-refundable Education Abroad Administration Fee, also known as the program's Commitment Deposit. The Commitment Deposit is approved by VCU’s Board of Visitors. Please do not pay the commitment deposit unless you are ready to fully commit to this program and participation.
- $250 Education Abroad Commitment Deposit: required for applicants to all education abroad programs (for programs occurring in fall 2025 and earlier)
- $450 Education Abroad Commitment Deposit: required for applicants to all education abroad programs (for programs occurring in winter 2026 and beyond)
