Please do not complete the alternative program application if:

• You are only enrolling in an independent study course or internship course at VCU through e-services; please contact VCU Education Abroad to inquire about this registration process.
• You are applying to one of the following programs:  Academic Programs International (API), CAPA International, CEA Global Education, CIS Abroad, International Studies Abroad (ISA), SAI Programs, VCU Partnership & Exchange Universities, and VCU Faculty-led Programs.    

Students participating in "Alternative Programs" are intending to transfer credits back to VCU.  Thousands of study abroad programs exist, so make sure to look only at those that offer credit from an accredited university. Students should make sure that they receive an official transcript.  Language schools are not acceptable unless they are able to issue a transcript through an accredited university.  If you are unsure about your program's accreditation, please contact VCU Education Abroad to confirm.

Note:  You must apply to your study abroad program or host university separately.  When you begin your registration with VCU, you will be prompted to pay the following non-refundable fees. Please do not pay these fees until you have been accepted into your program and are sure you will participate.
