For example, are you willing to drive to DC for a cheaper flight? Do you already have a valid passport? Are you willing to carefully watch your spending while you're on your program?

The following are not included in the program fee. Students are responsible for:
  • Airfare
  • Personal expenses during the program estimated (including most meals) estimated at $1,000
  • Passport application or renewal fee, if applicable
  • Anything not specifically mentioned above

Airfare
Airfare is not included. Participants are responsible for making their own round-trip travel arrangements from the US to their destination. Program directors will meet with accepted students to discuss specific travel logistics and may help students in identifying low-cost travel options and possibly book flights together. For best fares, students are encouraged to purchase their tickets prior to April 15, but not prior to the program being officially confirmed as fully enrolled. More information in the Preparation Section.

Tuition
Tuition is included in the program fee. Students will receive transfer credit for all coursework completed in this program, eliminating the need to pay VCU’s per-credit tuition rate and the Arts tuition differential. This saves an in-state Arts student more than $3,000.

In order to receive credit, students must earn the equivalent of a C or better.
